Meet Janie
Introducing Janie Brits, our dedicated Social Worker specializing in Play/Child Therapy. Her journey into this field was inspired by a family legacy, with both her mother and aunt being social workers.

Janie's passionate focus on play and child therapy stems from its noticeable impact on children and parents alike. She builds trust within communities through respect, and her involvement in community projects, like an annual prison outreach, is a source of pride. Janie balances the emotional toll of her work by setting clear boundaries and engaging in rejuvenating activities.
Her unique ability to connect with people, her commitment to providing a safe space, and her dedication to lifelong learning set her apart in her practice.

Key moments in her career include witnessing the joy in children's faces as they enter the playroom, the transformation in clients' lives after therapy, and the heartwarming appreciation from those she helps.
Outside of her profession, Janie finds inspiration in long-distance running and real-life crime shows. She stays updated through continuous professional development and her ongoing Master's Degree in Social Work.
Her guiding principle is to never assume what's happening in someone's life and to maintain an open attitude, always ready to learn from others. In the future, Janie is excited about expanding her involvement in schools and assisting teachers, children, and parents in the community.
She lives by the motto, "I like to dance to the beat of my drum," and is inspired by A.A. Milne's quote, "What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said? Asked Piglet. 'Help,' said Pooh."
